Welcome

I am Rusong HUANG, a philosopher working primarily in philosophy of mind and philosophy of language, with additional interests in metaethics and philosophy of economics.

My research develops an anti-representationalist and relational account of mind, centered on the relations among mentality, rationality, normativity, and linguistic practice. Rather than beginning with the idea that the mind is fundamentally a matter of inner representations, my work explores how mindedness is constituted and made intelligible through rational and normative relations.

I received my Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Florida in 2023, after previously completing a Ph.D. in Philosophy at Beijing Normal University in 2016. My work has been strongly influenced by the Pittsburgh School of Philosophy, especially Sellars, McDowell, and Brandom.

My current book project, Rethinking Mind: Mind as Rational Relation, develops the central idea that mind is not best understood as a substance, property, or representational state, but as a rational relation embedded in normative and linguistic practices.

This website gathers information about my research, publications, teaching, and current projects. Welcome, and thank you for visiting.
